Old ME Pro v3.63, outbound messages stuck

I've just moved an old ME Pro to a new server (Windows 2008), and apart from the outbound SMTP queue getting bigger and bigger everything else works! When looking at the "Mail Enable System Overview" window, the polled time for the outbound queue just grows and grows (until I stop and start the SMTP...

Hm.. both mespamc.exe and setup.exe is on the exception list for the firewall. What exactly does mespamc do ? Connect to the IP of the spamassassin server port 783 with tpc? udp?

I'll make a small tool that does the same to debug the problem further!

But I'm connecting, or? With telnet? Doesn't that mean anything?

Anyway, I've been looking at the spamassassin file in etc/sysconfig, and this argument is given: -A 192.168. so that should be okay right?

After moving ME Pro (and VMWare + SAVASM) to a new server, I have a problem getting MESpamC + SAVASM working again. I've just downloaded and installed the latest version of MESPamC, and the SAVASM image is the one I've had running on the the old server before. The SAVASM is running on 192.168.2.20 a...

Gerylisting has almost killed all spam going to my server (knock on wood). I might get one or two a week. Before I got 20-30-40 each day (on my own account, thousands on the server).

I agree with aremdee, after installing Pro version 3 and using the greylist option/feature, I'm close to spam free. Only other anti-spam measure I'm using is spam assassin, but the logs tell me that most get caught with greylisting. The only problem with greylisting is that once the spammers want to...

The problem with gmail (and others) is that it is often a different server trying to deliver the mail from try to try. So like Ben says, you could use an A mask, or just simply add all the IP number of the gmail servers to your exclude list. The last being the most secure.

I guess the article answers the question.. the quick answer must be:

Greylisting is done at SMTP level, so no filters! I wish ME would allow for some sort of 3rd party code to be run at SMTP level, but I can see why it isn't possible..!

Thank you!

My problem is solved for the moment!

I have been forced to find another mail-server product to use for backup MX, I'm not interested in running a mail-server without AV, spf, greylist etc. support, and can't afford a second license for ME Pro.

Can nobody tell me what happens after the 90 days? Does MailEnable stop working or is it just some of the features that "die" ??

ME 3.0 Pro Trial, what happens after 90 days?

I've had some problems and have solved them by setting up a ME (Pro 3 Trial) as back-up (extra MX and all). This is all very nice, but in 90 days (more like 80!), the trial will end. Will the server stop working or is it "just" some of the features that will be disabled ?? I really like the new grey...

Now I installed ME 3 Pro on my main server, same problem. So now I guess I have to pay $150, and I still have the same problem. Even tried to lower the MTU, didn't help. Guess I have to look at my switches and firewalls..

I'm not sure this has something to do with grey-listing (some of the issues might)! I've been trying to get help with an issue I have with users on Gmail, and it sounds a bit like the first issue you mention! When users of my mail server send mail to GMail users, the GMail users can not reply, the m...
