Re: Avoiding poor reputation
If you set up Spam Assassin manually and begin tuning it then it will start stopping messages incoming and outgoing that are dodgy i.e. things that will cause poor reputation... Worth trying... also gives you better protection from Spam too... Some people are recommending JAM... I set up my own cust...

Re: Slow to No Mail
Setup debug on webmail and imap services. Review debug logs. Look at your post office directory of the user and see whether the mail is actually there or not. I have seen things like this with mailboxes with greater than 15K of messages in the inbox. It seems to put IMAP services into a spin. Try to...

Re: How to Setup SMTP for individual PostOffice
Also for phones etc I really recommend "K9 Mail" for android.
I have all our Higher Level management using that for a few years and it works great with Mail Enable for simple IMAP pulling and pushing of mail.

Re: Some Messages bypass filters
If first filter is "add a header" and its not there on all messages then that's a bug... Do you have an MTA pickup event? Do you have Realtime Anti Virus software of any description running on the machine? This may be catching them before they go to the queue? I have to admit that for the past 2 sub...

Re: SPAM Education
Start here for how we have set ourselves up using Spam Assassin... Its relatively detailed... Use on a test server first... We have been using this for 2 odd years now and I only touch 2 spam assassin files usually. http://forum.mailenable.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=24726 We have made a home made utili...

Message ID:
Hi ME, In the header of every message sent is a "Message ID:" with a unique identifier. I was wondering if we could get this unique ID also added to a system "text file". My idea is to add a filter which checks this file and that if the message ID is in the message being checked then we are pretty s...

Re: SPAM Education
We are happy with our modified free Spam Assassin solution and our modified home made Quarantine Program for Mail Enable. We have IIS on the perimeter so we have the option from our program of blocking on "SMTP Connect" too so our spam is now way way down. What users and customers need to understand...

Re: Active Directory integration
No. The ME password is its own password file with a list of each user and their password. If you set ME to have this file unencrypted it will have the actual passwords in the file. We use the ME password as a magic password for "non tech savvy people" such as Higher Level Management for their phones...

Re: Whitelisting not working
The rules work in order from top to bottom so make sure your whitelisting rule is above your spam rule. At the end of the whitelisting rule put a "stop processing filters" to make sure that other rules are not being processed. In this case it may be that it was whitelisted but then went onto the spa...

Re: Splitting a single domain's mailboxes across 2 servers
I get what you are trying to do. I think it is theoretically possible in a similar fashion. The method described in the zen article is actually not very efficient actually on bandwidth or that smart but anyhow. On the second site you would have an extra alias for each mailbox. e.g. fred.smith@bogus....

Re: Bad Mail after Hard Drive failure
I use a product called fastcopy to sync my postoffice and config structure to another server every hour. Its nots so intrusive as you would think. To resync about 700Gb for 500 users each hour takes about 20 mins so I am only every about an hour behind on my mail. When I changed mail servers I did i...
