Cannot send mail via MAPI

Hi,

I need help with information or suggestion about the following:

I`m using Mail Enable Enterprise Edition and Outlook 2013. Since now the setup was through POP3 and worked without problem. Now I wanted to try the MAPI connector in order to sync my calendar with other people or mobile device.

So I downloaded and installed the connector and re-setup one mailbox through the MAPI settings in Outlook using this link:

http://www.mailenable.com/MailEnable_Co ... utlook.pdf

So far I`m getting incoming mails but cannot send anything via the outlook client:

On the client side the error is : Failed to send message. SMTP server responded with:-.
On the server the message stays in the Inbound SMTP in status Spooling.

In the Message tracker the info is: Result: [Mail number] is waiting in the SMTP inbound message queue to be routed by the MTA Service. This most likely means that the MTA service has not had sufficient time to route the message.

Can someone help me what to change or do in order to get outgoing mail going and the sync working?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

Configure the SMTP service on the MailEnable server to listen on alternative port (I.e: 26). Then configure the MAPI connector account settings to connect over port 26 for SMTP. The reason for this is to eliminate any Antivirus proxies or spam proxies that maybe filtering the SMTP connection and causing problems.

Ian,

Thanks a lot for the help - it works excellent. Can you please help me a little more with the following:

The main reason for trying the Connector is that I want to share Outlook calendar between people so they can see each other`s appointment and free time. How can this be achieved?

I found a description to use Permissions tab of the calendar to set up who will see the details, but is this all that I need to do or there is something more to be done?

Thanks in advance for the help!

OK, I managed to share the calendars of two people and to see the shared events in both Outlook. But when I try to create a meeting and to use the "Scheduling" no event for the other person is available - no free\busy information could be retrieved.

I`m using on both machines Office 2013 x32.

Thanks in advance for the information and help provided.

Where is here the Problem?

Thank you!
