Local routing without smart host

Post by jsuares »

We are using ME to send outbound messages only from a production server, while Google Apps provides our main mail server.

When we send to local domains, ME tries to deliver first locally. We know there is a utility to prevent this. However, that utility has now changed and requires setting up the other server as a smart host, which is not possible to do with GMail and creates very big problems for us, because we are using ME to send messages unauthenticated with an IP based permission.

Is there any way to continue delivering messages directly through ME (and not through some smart host) even to local domain addresses? Perhaps we could download an older version of the utility?
