receive mail to domain account without authentication

I have something misconfigured. I can send and receive mail locally, but can't receive anything outside of the domain. I have allow relay for authenticated senders checked, but that shouldn't affect this, correct? I don't won't an open relay, but when I send email to my domain account from any non domain account, I get a message saying I have to be authenticated. Is there a setting to allow if sent to a domain address?
