does SMTP inbound access control also apply to IMAP?

Does the IP block list maintained under the SMTP service also apply to IMAP?

If not, how does one block rogue IPs that try to log in (brute force login attempts, etc?)

Also, it would be cool if the Mailenable Real-Time Activity monitor had a tab that was for the IMAP logs...
