IMAP and Integrated Auth problem

Post by awalesa »

Hi all,

We are dealing with problems on IMAP+ingerated authentication. For POP, SMTP, webmail, ActiveSync it works great - disabled user in AD equals unable to access mail services. But with IMAP it's diffrent - it just doesn't work. Tried several versions od ME. When we disable user in AD the imap user can still log in. Wireshark trace shows no auth request to AD. It's look like the imap impelentatnion is not taking into account the postoffice setting for integrated authentication. The one more strange thing is that IMAP is not blocking access for a user when the integrated authentication is disabled and the ME user account (mailbox) is disabled (changed state from enabled to disabled). It takes sometimes a couple of minutes then the user is unable to access imap service. Enabling the mailbox also is not meaning that the user is able to access imap service - after a couple of seconds (90-180) it starts to work. Do you have any idea or have you tried this? Any suggestions or fix?

Thanks,
Alex
