Spam Button in WebMail

Post by whgpjay »

A feature that I would love to see in the WebMail interface is a simple "mark as spam" button (perhaps where the Print and Headers buttons are above the message).

I realize I can setup public folders and tell users to move spam there, but unfortunately the average user needs something even more simplistic. Another barrier of public folders is privacy/security, since anyone in the post office can then see those messages.

Thought & comments appreciated...

Yes a spam button would be nice to have.

I agree, this would be a great idea, and should be pretty simple to do

Would also like to add: if a Spam button is implemented, there should also be a "Not Spam" button in a users spam folder.

Most every spam organization (SpamHaus, SpamCop, etc.) requires that a particular spam be reported so many times before being added to the DNS banned lists.

What would be really slick is to have a background script as part of ME that would automatically generate a spam report to whatever DNS Blacklists are enabled in the SMTP connector.

If not going that far, at least have customer/User reported spam queue to the Postmaster for final approval and sending to the various spam lists.

what about when you "Mark as SPAM/Mark as NoSpam" MailEnable processes an Administrator defined filter.

Filter
If Marked as SPAM in WebMail
action (forward to spam@domain.com - for bayesian processing)

If Marked as NoSpam in WebMail
action (forward to ham@domain.com - for bayesian processing)

you could also have it add an MIME Header for 3rd party filters to deal with ... MEFilter can do this, and is currently what i am doing with bayesian flagged messages.
