Upgrading to 7.06 from 7.02 has broken webmail
Upgrading to 7.06 from 7.02 has broken webmail
Hi,
Since upgrading MailEnable enterprise from 7.02 to 7.06, I have now got an issue with webmail.
I can login to webmail, but when I click on my inbox I get the following error:
---------------------------
Message from webpage
---------------------------
Server communication failure. Please refresh your browser and try again.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------
Wondering if anyone else has had this issue?
EDIT - A Quick update. The Mobile version still works fine, it's just the desktop site that doesn't work.

Re: Upgrading to 7.06 from 7.02 has broken webmail
First try reinstalling 7.06 and if that doesn't fix it try renaming the folder.xml and/or the index.xml file for the affected mailbox. If this fixed the problem you maybe need to remove them all so the mailboxes are rebuilt.
I am using 7.06 without this problem.

Didn't work.
It did create a new folder.xml.
Tried to reinstall 7.06 and nothing.

Try the MEInstaller and have it reload the webmail. If you haven't restarted your server, I would highly recommend doing that.

It is asking for a password.
I don't think a password was entered during the install.

Really? That almost sounds like a permisssions issue. Rerun that permissions thing from the MEInstaller.

You can also use the installer tool to fix a lot of problems without doing a full reinstall, it's located in the main /bin/ folder and it's called MEInstaller.exe
Re: Upgrading to 7.06 from 7.02 has broken webmail
I have done everything.
I reboot.
Ran MEInstaller
Click on Common Installation (File Permissions) Get a popup that" Please enter the password for the MailEnable Service Accounts (IME_Admin and IME_URSER) This password should be alphanumeric and 8 characters or longer.
Do I have to enter a new password or is it asking me for a existing password.
I also have the latest plesk control panel installed.
Thanks in advance.

Could very well be plesk cp mucking with your IIS permissions.
You can try making a new site in IIS just for testing, use an internal address as not to compromise your system and set it up with "IIS AppPool\website" permissions then give that user full access to the ME folder(s).
See if you can access the web locally, otherwise download sysinternals process monitor to check for access failures.

We had the same problem...
Use MEInstaller to "Reset IIS Virtual Directory Configuration settings for ASP/ASPX Platform". We are currently using .NET 4 64-bit, but you may need to use something different.

BINGO!!!!!! Thank You.
I did that but I did .net 4 64bit cause my system is 64bit and has 4.5 on it. So I went down the list and is ended up being .net2.0 32bit.
I think is is because we have Plesk and it installed MailEnable in the sys32.
Thanks.
