Problems setting up custom connector...

Post by rwaldis » Thu Dec 12, 2013 9:32 pm

I have read the documentation, but I cannot seem to properly setup the custom connector.
I am trying to create a connector called DOCLOAD

1) Directories

I created the two sets of directories:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Mail Enable\Queues\DOCLOAD\Inbound\Messages
C:\Program Files (x86)\Mail Enable\Queues\DOCLOAD\Outgoing\Messages

Note that the documentation says "outbound", but I believe it should be "outgoing" based on the other connector directories. I tried both.

2) Registry

the documentation says to set:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Mail Enable\Mail Enable\Connectors\DOCLOAD

but when I went to the mail enable directory in the registry, there were no other connectors, just a key called "Updates". I created the above registry key to no avail.
So I search on "Mail enable" and found the other connectors in a different place:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Mail Enable\Mail Enable\Connectors

I added DOCLOAD there as well.

3) Allocating mailbox to connector address

this was not entirely clear to me so I've tried a number of combinations.
First I created a new email address client-test@integratec.biz
I basically edited the ADDRESS-MAP.tab file with the following row. First a typical row, then the new row:
[SMTP:sroche@integratec.biz] [SF:Integratec.biz/sroche] Integratec.biz 0
[SMTP:client-test@integratec.biz] [DOCLOAD:asdf] Integratec.biz 0

This is what I'm seeing in the MTA logs:
12/12/13 16:01:43 Processing file 7EC17C49F1F44F82B3410F5688572ABB.MAI from queue SMTP
12/12/13 16:01:43 ME-MTA-ROUTE [7EC17C49F1F44F82B3410F5688572ABB.MAI] from [SMTP] Connector queued to [DOCLOAD] Connector as [16DAD01E45874D23BE5E9974F2FCB3F8.MAI]

This is the error msg in the SMTP Debug Log:
12/12/13 16:01:43 ME-E0116: ERR (112):Error resolving SMTP Address for asdf. Message directed to Postmaster@integratec.biz.

The problem is that I can't find the email in the directories I created. It appears to have been sent to the postmaster@integratec.biz account
It seems to me that the connector is not setup.
Any help please?

Thanks,
Rich
