smtp inbound errors for single domain

Post by dmburgess »

I have a ME Enterprise server running many domains, ONE domain (of course the busiest) has issues with our SPAM solution forwarding in e-mails. The system is setup to only take inbound e-mails from our SPAM box, and use the SPAM box as our smart host. Other domains on the SAME box are unaffected, but the SPAM box comes back with messages that are deferred, several thousand of them. Several messages come up, "transport unavailable" ," error while sending DATA command". those are the big ones, then the SPAM box suspends the delivery due to issues, and they get a few thousand backed up. I restart the service on the SPAM box, and it will push in a few min 4000+ deferred messages, but later they same day, it will have more deferred messages for that same domain. Other domains on the SAME ME server have NO issues and other mail servers on the same network (other domains as well) have no issues either, its all locally connected. (right in house)..
