I have some users that would like to use the POP Retrieval to pull email from gmail. The service does not appear to be working. Here is the configuration:
Mail Server: pop.gmail.com
Port: 995
Username: client@gmail.com
Password: ClientPassword
We did confirm that the credentials are correct by logging in directly with them to gmail
No error nothing, how can we see what is going on with this? Does this connection get logged somewhere?
It should also be noted that we did configure the gmail account to allow "pop download" connections via settings > Forwarding and POP/IMAP > POP Download > "Enable POP for all mail"
POP Retrieval not working for gmail to mailenable delivery

HI,
Gmail will prevent third party applications from authenticating. You need to log into the Gmail account security settings and create an App password and then use that password for authenticating.

Where is the log file for this and can you manually force it to attempt pop retrieval by restarting a service?
This does work however it does take a while for it to pull messages.
Thank Ian.

The log file for the POP Retrieval service is located under: Servers > Localhost > Services and Connectors > POP Retrieval > Logs.
