SPAM activity

Post by dmburgess »

Just wondering, when are we going to get outbound spam protection integrated ?

Specifically, i have e-mail accounts that get compmerized, then we get a few hundred IP addresses sending mail as authenticated senders out .. Can we put a limit on the number of IPs that they can use or something? Maybe so many auths within such a time frame etc?

Not really helpful. We don't have 24/7/365 active monitoring of our mail severs. The issue is that we have customers that start sending spam, its coming from any IPs, not just one or two, many. Plus, what happens after 12 hours is that xyz number of e-mails goes out. We get on spam lists. Thats not good. We need a product that can detect that xyz number of SPAM messages have bee sent, disabling the mailbox and then a e-mail is generated to the postmaster or someone or multiple people that we define per post office. This would automatically disable a mailbox, and inform the admin who did what and why.

MXUptime had reports that were generated on a weekly basis as well as could do that, but right now it don't look like they are in operation.
