http://www.mxuptime.com/download.aspx but you have to log into the account you have if you're using the full edition and not the Lite edition.

Hi,

I try to upgrade MxScanME Lite from version 2.7.501 to the latest version 3.1.101

I start the installation und choose the directory in which the current version is installed
it starts beginning installation but stops with an error during "prepare_me.exe"
Error! Unable to continue. An existing MxScanEngineME service was found.
Please uninstall the previous version before continuing.

If you are attempting to upgrade an existing installation a reboot might be
required before continuing with the installation
Restart was already tried but in vain.

And if I uninstall first I think I will loose all my settings...?!

What to do to upgrade the version?

Thanks and regards
quba

I think you still have to uninstall and reinstall the new version. The license key also will not work from the 2.x to the 3.x, so you will have to get a new one (it may cost).

I use the Lite version (unlicensed) so no license key available and needed.

But is it really not possible to update the version without having to complete reconfigure the settings?

Thanks and regards

You can take screen shots of the settings and recreate the settings.

Hi,

I have the following issue.
I have a registered version 3.2.201.0 on Windows 2012 R2.
Under AntiSpam, I have ticked "Spamassassin".
Of course, I have also ticked there "Auto Update rules", but that does not seem to work.

"SA Rules last Updated:" says 24-6-2017, which is a month old(!).
This was the date that I reinstalled MxScan (again!).
The issue is, that the rules only get updated once, when you (re)install the product.
When i manually hit "Manual Update Now", a MS-DOS box shortly comes up and then says "SpamsAssassin Ruleset is already up-to-date", which is of course not true. And Auto Update isn't working at all.
This is just a Standard Windows 2012 R2 Server, with all the latest patches and directly connected to Internet with correct DNS and so on.
This works, because Windows Update works fine. But SpamAssassin doesn't.........what could be the issue??

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

This date is not about the Spamassassin program, but about the actual Anti-Spam definitions.
So this would mean that the Anti-Spam definitions are now almost 2 months old!
I can imagine that some (new) spam is now not detected anymore, as the definitions are outdated to detect them.

I am very curious if anyone has a working solution to update the definitions?

If you go to SpamAssassin's website, it looks to me they stopped making their solution a while back as per new versions. This then leads to credibility if this is a viable filtering method.

The mxuptime.com website is not working. Have they stopped providing this service? I couldn't find information. Can you help me. I'm looking for a spam filtering and virus protection that works fine with Mail Enable.
