How do I shorten Account Lockout Interval?

Post by sagelike »

Hi there,

Under Localhost > Policies, there's an option to Lock out users for 1 hour after x number of failed login attempts.

Is there a way to shorten the lockout period. 1 hour seems like to long and I would like to go with 30 minutes.

Thanks
G

Ian, just jumping in here to say I've researched lockout issues before and having some more options would be nice such as being able to delist someone without restarting services or having the ability to modify the length of the ban. I'm more interested in having the ability to clear bans as it isn't very professional of us to restart live services if people are connected. As we currently do it, we drain our load balancing cluster for each affected node and then restart the service(s), but it would be much nicer if we could just clear the ban for the affected IP(s). Just my two cents. Thank you.

Hi Ian,

Thanks for responding.

It would be nice to have that option somewhere at some point.

KB article doesn't exist anymore. Is there another reference you can provide?
