How to correctly configure POP and SMTP for Outlook 2003.
DETAIL The following procedure outlines how to add a new e-mail account to an existing Outlook profile:
On the Tools menu, click E-mail Accounts.
Select the Add a new e-mail account, and then click
Next.
Select the Add button.
Select POP3, and then click Next.
Enter e-mail account information.
In the 'Your Name' box, type the user name as you would
like it to appear.
In the E-mail Address box, type the MailEnable
e-mail address. Example, Mailbox@domainname.com.
In the Incoming mail server (POP3) box, type the
host name of the MailEnable server.
In the Outgoing mail server (SMTP) box,
type the host name of the MailEnable server.
In the User Name box, enter the
username in the format of MailboxName@PostofficeName.
Enter the MailEnable
password.
IMPORTANT: If the SMTP option "Allow relay for authenticated senders is enabled", then MailEnable's SMTP server requires authentication. To turn this setting on, follow these steps:
From the Tools menu, click Accounts.
Select the Mail tab.
Select the
account that connects to the MailEnable server, and then click
Properties.
Select Servers.
Select the 'My Server
Requires Authentication' check box, and then select OK.
