How to correctly configure POP and SMTP for Outlook 2003.

DETAIL

The following procedure outlines how to add a new e-mail account to an existing Outlook profile:
  • On the Tools menu, click E-mail Accounts.
  • Select the Add a new e-mail account, and then click Next.
  • Select the Add button.
  • Select POP3, and then click Next.
  • Enter e-mail account information.
  • In the 'Your Name' box, type the user name as you would like it to appear.
  • In the E-mail Address box, type the MailEnable e-mail address. Example, Mailbox@domainname.com.
  • In the Incoming mail server (POP3) box, type the host name of the MailEnable server.
  • In the Outgoing mail server (SMTP) box, type the host name of the MailEnable server.
  • In the User Name box, enter the username in the format of MailboxName@PostofficeName.
  • Enter the MailEnable password.
  • IMPORTANT: If the SMTP option "Allow relay for authenticated senders is enabled", then MailEnable's SMTP server requires authentication.

    To turn this setting on, follow these steps: 
  • From the Tools menu, click Accounts.
  • Select the Mail tab.
  • Select the account that connects to the MailEnable server, and then click Properties.
  • Select Servers.
  • Select the 'My Server Requires Authentication' check box, and then select OK.
