Barracuda LDAP configuration settings for MailEnable LDAP


SUMMARY

This knowledgebase article provides the criteria needed to configure the Barracuda Spam & Virus Firewall to perform directory lookups using the MailEnable LDAP service.

DETAIL

The Bind DN and the Bind password can be located within the"slapd.conf" file. The file is located within the MailEnable "LDAP" folder. e.g.: Mail Enable\LDAP

  1. Open up the "slapd.conf" file within Windows notepad.
  2. Locate the following section for the Bind Dn:

              rootdn  "cn=Directory Manager,o=MailEnable"

  3. Locate the following section for the BIND password:

          rootpw  

Barrucuda LDAP configuration settings:

Bind DN: cn=Directory Manager,o=MailEnable
Bind Password: (the one provided within the "slapd.conf" file)
LDAPFilter:(|(proxyaddresses=smtp$${recipient_email})(proxyaddresses=smtp:${recipient_email})(mail=${recipient_email})(userPrincipalName=${recipient_email}))
LDAP Search Base: ${defaultNamingContext}
LDAP UID: uid
LDAP Primary Email Attribute: mail
Canary Email: (blank)
