ME020299 - TRB: POP Connector has high CPU utilization

SUMMARY

The POP Connector is used to retrieve email from remote POP accounts into MailEnable. The service should not be confused with the POP service that is used by mail clients to access their mail that is stored in MailEnable.

DETAIL

A possible problem could be the POP service has been configured to pull mail down from itself. Make sure via the Administration program or web mail that the service is not pulling mail from it's own POP account.

This would cause MEPOPC.EXE to run at high CPU and would cause an message loop (which the system will detect after some time, but it will flare up whenever new messages are delivered into the mailbox). The short term solution is to disable the POP Retrieval connector. The longer term solution is to review its log files and determine which account is being accessed and is looping.
