Block recurring List Server attempts

I use either the "password" or "must be a subscriber" methods of controlling access to all mailing lists. Although both work, the server is getting hammered by multiple bad requests. Is there a way to add these offending IP addresses to the blocked sender IP list, similar to the blocking for SMTP se...

Re: Inbox does not display in WebMail - URGENT

I just read this post
http://forum.mailenable.com/viewtopic.p ... ng#p111272
upleveled to 9.75 and the problem disappeared.

Can anybody explain why this issue has suddenly appeared in the last few weeks?

Inbox does not display in WebMail - URGENT

Using Enterprise Version 9.5.1 and just recently all post offices are unable to display the inbox and associated folders usually seen under the "Mailbox - (mailbox name)" icon after clicking the "expand" triangle. All other ME access actions appear fine, including POP3 and Mobile Version. I have res...

Adding Allowed Subnets Required for Symantec A/V

I am changing to cloud filtering services from Symantec and they require a wide range of IPs to be locked down per user. My previous service provider only had a few ranges, so using the asterisked wildcard notation was lengthy, but bearable. Implementing this list below using asterisked wildcard not...

Scan message text for phone number

I need help developing a delivery event that would scan the inbound message text for any phone number in the format xxx-xxx-xxxx, then forward a new email containing that phone number to a ME mail list. Can this be done in ASP, or is another language more suitable? Example please.

Re: ME exploit?

That was a big help. Thanks Ian. I had done a similar grep before, but perhaps I misspelled what I was looking for. Apparently hackers were testing that the mailbox exists. Later I see numerous attempts to log into that account using brute force - guessing passwords, and using other IPs. Per ME http...

Re: ME exploit?

Thanks Ian. I have several mailboxes with redirects to my personal account. Is there any way to determine which of these mailboxes was used? What would I search for, and in what log file?

ME exploit?

I have begun receiving a few of these each day using ME Ent 8.58. Two examples seen. They are routed to my personal inbox, yet appear to have no sender nor receiver. No content. I can't find the sending IP (like 95.159.144.33) in any ME log files, either. Obviously an attack. I use McAfee SAAS as a ...

Re: System Messages - Abuse detected

I also note that my config/smtp-deny.tab file has a DLM way back in 2004 with just six IP address entries. None of these entries have been noted in any "abuse detected" emails received. I can only assume that although "abuse detected", that does not mean ME will deny any further login attempts. Is t...

Re: System Messages - Abuse detected

I only have desired ports enabled. The issue is that the bad guys use ports 110, 25 and 587 to attempt multiple logins with guessed username/pw. These are trapped by ME, but I'd like to remove that resource drain. It would be more efficient if I can take those blocked IP's and auto-add them to a new...

Re: System Messages - Abuse detected

rfwilliams - or anybody else - have a script that will auto block that IP from further attacks using Win Firewall?

Where are the offending IP addresses saved?

Re: List Server Commands

The Admin's GUI for list members only shows three addresses at a time. They are not sorted. This makes it very cumbersome to maintain, like finding a current subscriber address. Can you add the ability for a credentials Admin to download the subscriber list? Or at least display the list sorted alpha...

Re: New list feature explanation required

My tests show that when this new option is used, then AOL still bounces the e-mails to be received if an AOL account is used as the sender. Recipient: [SMTP:n185ra@aol.com] Reason: 521 5.2.1 : AOL will not accept delivery of this message. The above message/error was using the new "change header and ...

Re: List Server compatibility with Yahoo's new DMARC policy

I just tried this new option. When I have an x@aol.com subscriber, they now receive messages sent by an "outside" subscriber. However if they attempt to send a message to the list, they will not receive a copy. An error is generated seen in the NDR: Reason: 521 5.2.1 : AOL will not accept delivery o...

NDR for Lists

When Lists are used, how can I control where NDR are sent? I would think they should be sent to the message originator, or to the moderator. I do have SMTP Properties "Send copy of all NDR" sent to myself, plus "Only generate NDR for senders who authenticate".
