Actually configuring the email to reply to the sender is a bad idea. Most viruses forge the from addresses and thus you are not informing the right person anyway, and therefore in addition to the flood of mail from viruses hitting servers, the problem is compounded by auto replies.

Good news, I've been looking for this addition for a while.

Do you have any code examples of how the authentication should be coded to work?

I applied this amended 1.13 as I was running version 1.13 (original) Two issues have come to my attention: 1) There is still an error when trying to test the Anti-Virus. Despite selecting AVG 6.0 the test tries to run F-Prot and fails as it isn't installed. 2) If you go to a post office and select a...

Be interesting to see what your stats are. Spam hitting my server and not getting through is currently 70% of the total volume on a daily basis! Wait till you see how much resource they continue to try and use despite being blocked. Most of them completely ignore any bounces and try banging on the c...

DNS Path This allows you to define whether you wish to refer your lookup request to the service providers DNS Zone or to simply query a DNS Host for an entry. Most implementations of DNS Blacklists require a Zone lookup. Zone Lookup This is the name of the DNS Zone or the IP Address of the DNS host...

Sadly no I don't have any clues, but wanted to add that the same happens here.

We use AVG 6.0 Server Edition, it is enabled, but test AV only checks FProt. Would seem to be a bug to me.

Of the blocklists I look up I prefer the SBL (http://www.spamhaus.org) - maintained by Steve Linford, highly respected in the anti-spam world. Spamhaus is also the home of ROKSO (register of known spam orgainisations). Spamcop is pretty good and their lists are built based on reports, though the qua...

There isn't a simple answer. You really need to establish which list you trust. I personally take a hard line and use: SBL - Spamhaus Blocklist SPEWS - Spam Prevention Early Warning System Spamcop DSBL - Distributed Server Blocklist (basically open servers) ORDB - blocks Open Relays I also block the...

Mailenable Mail Component - Outbound Authentication

I have my server set up to allow relay only where users authenticate. I've emailed support separately about an issue where someone appears to have been able to mail themselves via our server using 127.0.0.1. This is allowed as a priviledged as websites which have feedback or apps requiring email can...

Mailenable uses its own component to send mail and CDONTS or CDO won't work.

The instructions and examples are at http://www.mailenable.com/documentation ... oc37618489

Works very nicely too :)
