Finding WHO authenticated a particular message

I have been hit twice in the last week. Each time multiple HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS of emails dumped on me. Upon review, it is an authenticated user coming from a remote network. I would guess that one of my customers unwittingly gave up their logon credentials somewhere and now the bad guys are using ...

Looks like you have a setting that is forcing all inbound connections to authenticate. The three options that imediately come to mind that you should disable are: Prevent sender address spoofing ME Admin MMC->Servers->Localhost->Connectors->SMTP Properties ->Security TAB ->"Prevent sender address s...

routing mail without using smart hosts

I got hit somehow by spammer jerks with 450,000 messages over the past weekend. This has caused me to be blacklisted in a whole lot of places. While I am resolving the black lists, I want to route all mail to those domains through another server. In the past (older version of ME) I created a postoff...

Whitelist info from Webmail - where is it stored?

Sorry, this is a cross post. I should have put it here first, not in the Pro forum where it may lanquish. I want to create a report/quarantine app for ME. I need to know what ME does with the information when someone right clicks on a message in WEBMAIL and chooses to whitelist the email. Where/how ...

Re: XML files used in ME

There is a utlility available here at http://www.mailenable.com/utilities/addons/MEPURGE.ZIP that does purging of emails > x amount of days. I am not too sure on the quarantine part though cheers Thank you for this. Does ME check for each file when it writes the XML in the folder or does it simply ...

XML files used in ME

I would like to develop a helper app for ME that would do expiration of email (if older than X number of days, delete messages) and would send a Quarantine type of message based on the contents of Junk Email folder. I see you generate an XML file in the folders that define the content. I am not sure...

Mail List for all accounts on server?

I just turned on something in message filtering and I want to send a message to all the accounts on the server (about 600 with 30-40 domains) but I don't see the way to set up a list of all the accounts on my ME install. Could someone point me to a KB or forum posting. I tried searching without much...

Hi, Does the problem occur intermittantly? Were you able to access the web mail interface prior to the error occurring? Do your root websites still work after the problem occurs? . Im going to watch this a bit more before opening a trouble ticket. The problem is intermittant and there have been tim...

Service Unavailable

I am running into a problem with my ME install with regard to webmail. The smtp / pop services will run fine but it appears that the webmail stops with an IIS error: Service Unavailable. That is the only thing that shows on the page. I am using Pro version 3.14 Checking the event errors it states: E...

Re: POP3 Smart hosting with MailEnable?

If answer is "no", is there some pop3 proxy or alternative that can be used (server side, not client side) to do this task in a client transparent manner (that is, without reconfiguring anything on clients)? Thanx and bye The analogx.com portmapper should work. For more power go to www.delegate.org...

The calculation of the mailbox is on all mail on all folders even folders created by users. Important reminder to all: this includes deleted items. This is the most common reason we get calls, people use webmail exclusively and forget to clean out their deleted items folder. This may be a good reas...
