Hi,

Without access to the MailEnable server log files we cant tell. You need to get into contact with the mail admin that has access the log files.

Hi,

Yes that is correct. You will need to try your tests again and then inspect the MailEnable SMTP activity and debug log files to troubleshoot further.

The log file for the POP Retrieval service is located under: Servers > Localhost > Services and Connectors > POP Retrieval > Logs.

Yes, although don't forgot to embrace the entries with wildcards.

I.e:

Hi,

You need to inspect the SMTP debug log file in respect to the message ID, socket number (1016) and IP address to see what has occurred during the transmission of data. it will provide more details or errors relating to the failure.

Hi,

Does the mail.domain.com resolve to the MailEnable servers IP address? Are you able to telnet to mail.domain.com on port 25 and receive a MailEnable SMTP response?

Hi,

The problem here is not MailEnable and with your provider. You need to inquire and have them provide the exact details they require smart hosting via their SMTP service. Show them your log snippets of the failure message.
