The only feature that mailenable is really missing that my other spam filter had...at least in the upgrade that I never got around to testing...was the ability to recognize image patterns within embedded images of known spam. Since I never upgraded to that version, I never got the chance to see how ...

good job on the spam filter
I just wanted to say that Mail Enable Enterprise Edition's spam filtering has impressed me. I have been using a proxy filter called Spamfilter for ISP's however, my license for upgrades on it had expired before their 3.x release and a few weeks ago I decided to take the plunge into the 3.x version o...

I decided to install a clean installation of mailenable 3.x on a different server...and man was I missing out on some stuff. The Hoodoo interface is awesome. I don't know why the upgrade didn't jazz up my webmail like it did in a clean install. Now I know why I had some issues with webmail that I ha...

Outlook client synchronization and bouncing email
I upgraded from a registered 2.x Enterprise edition to the 3.0 trial licensed version to attempt to fix an issue I am having with bounced emails. Intermittently, Mailenable will bounce an inbound email, giving the error that the local mailbox doesn't exist even though it does exist and does receive ...

whenever I get a blank screen on a telnet to any smtp server, that usually means that, for some reason, I am failing their spam tests. Is your IP a true static IP? Some cable and DSL companies offer "static" IP's, but they are not true static IP's, meaning that they are registered as dynamic IP's. T...

In my experience, this is usually due to greylisting and the amount of time that your server re-attempts delivery. I've dropped mine down to 2 minutes on the first retry, 3 minutes on the second and then a more reasonable amount of time on subsequent retries (20 minutes or so). Some greylists expect...

mailing list woes
One of our clients has a couple of large mailing lists within their post office. One list consists of 8,000 members and another consists of about 10,000. The lists work fine, except, when trying to view and manage the members from within the webmail admin pages. When doing this, the mysqld-nt.exe pr...

The issue appears to be isolated to Microsoft Outlook as I just did some tests with both Outlook Express and Outlook 2003 on the client's machine and Outlook consistently causes the error, but Outlook Express does not. The really weird thing is that we can duplicate this error on multiple machines r...

I will test it with Outlook Express and see what happens. We have been able to duplicate the problem from more than one workstation with just this one mailbox. All of the workstations at the client's facility use Symantec Antivirus Corporate 9.0 We have the Symantec Antivirus server at their facilit...

more weirdness
I've taken quite a few steps to try to resolve this. I'm still uncertain if it is Outlook or mail enable causing this. I have: 1) flushed the index files in both the inbox and sent items and tested with same error of sent item showing up in the inbox with the copy rule turned on or off. 2) shut down...

sent items weirdness
I've got a very strange issue with just one user on our mail server....yeah...yeah leave it to me to have something this strange...When they send email using their Outlook client, instead of storing the email in their sent items folder, it puts the sent copy into their inbox! I've never seen this is...

As far as I know, it is not available for download through the download/hotfix/beta pages...guess it's still an open thing since we are all still monitoring things to see if this one did the trick. Here's the URL I was given: http://www.mailenable.com/mailenableent.EXE Like I said in my last post, I...

latest patch
I recieved a full update patch through the trouble ticket system for this issue. I'm going to post my results here as well as feeding them back through the trouble ticket system. Our spikes have dropped off considerably and the CPU is spiking still, however, these spikes are what I call normal "sine...

beta
The beta hotfix for IMAP has had little effect for us as well. I think the behavior that Smurf describes is what we are witnessing, only at a compounded scale due to the fact that many of our end users typically have 3500+ emails in their inbox. What about an agent to move older emails out of the IM...

coolio
Any chance I could get a copy of this beta fix for IMAP? I'm willing to run a beta to get IMAP under control. I'm being bombarded by issues with Outlook crawling when hitting our mail server through IMAP due to the CPU being slammed all the time.
Thanks.
Thanks.
