Re: Recent install

Number through would be through the web admin. He can add, edit, and remove users, change passwords, etc.
I would recommend when setting up or migrating that you manually recreate all the user accounts as this will add them to the various files.

webmail - mp4 forward

When forwarding an email with an MP4 attachment using webmail, it does not truly forward the attachment. It shows it in the compose, but no one receives the attachment. If a new email is composed, it is fine. I have the newest release of ME Enterprise.

Re: Inbox Emails Vanish.

Is his Thunderbird IMAP or POP? Does he have a filter set up in the Inbox. I know Outlook will sometimes have filter enabled for certain folders (including inbox). The message disappears until you clear the filter and then the messages reappear. This is "usually" the case with IMAP but I h...

[SOLVED] random login backgrounds v 10.x

Just copy the photos you want (make sure their resolution is about 1900 pixels wide or bigger) but be sure that the files are fairly small or it will take a while for them to load.

Re: In place Windows upgrade

Personally, all my transitions (especially when you are going from 32-bit to 64-bit and that old of an OS to a much newer one) were manually done. What I do is install the newest and clean version of ME on a brand new server, make sure you have all the windows updates before installing ME, then crea...

Re: IMAP Migration issues

You can use the migrate utility as was recommended. I have always done it manually by creating the accounts, changing the DNS to point to the new server, and then move their emails, contacts, and calendars into the new server (via FTP or copy and paste). This guarantees that everything works; it jus...

Re: damaged index of a mailbox ???

First, delete all the index files with no one logged in via Outlook (IMAP) or the webmail. Second, I would archive a lot of those messages. The more inbox emails you have, the longer it takes to update the index files and the more likely you will have issues with emails disappearing, not updating wh...

Re: Inbox Emails Vanish.

Does the email (the .mai file) physically exist on the server? If so, delete the index files in all the folders and have the user log back into the webmail. There was a version with an update and we did experience that. Personally I would also recommend to drastically update your mail server version.

Re: Report as Spam

Yes, when you do report as spam that are permanently deleted and based on what option you chose, it will either add the IP address to a block list or other stuff. There is no way to get the emails back.

Re: Choose skin from WebMail login

I used to offer my clients to choose their skin and all that. It became an issue for both branding and if someone had an issue with something working (not all skins worked well all the time when an update was rolled out). With version 10, I just made everyone go to only the Default skin which is mor...

Re: policy violation has occurred

If a policy is violated with an IP address, it seems that an IP address is blocked either for being on a blacklist or a user from that IP address has sent a bad command or login too many times and the mail server has blocked it. One, determine what the offense is to decide how to address the issue. ...

Re: Is MailEnable Archive has any best improvement or Need Mx Scan alternate or any best archiving software

Are you wanting archiving for inbound messages, a snap shot of all accounts and folders, a copy any messages leaving account regardless of the email software method? You can create a filter in ME that can copy all in and outbound messages for particular accounts and copy them to a folder under an ar...

Re: random login backgrounds v 10.x

The folder is there, but I looked for entries in the login.aspx file and a few css files but I am not seeing it calling from the library. This is why I asked can I just put images in the folder and it gets picked up or is there a file that needs to be updated so it knows to get those new photos.

random login backgrounds v 10.x

I highly enjoy the new backgrounds; however, are those images the only ones or can I copy other photos as well? Is there a file to edit to accept these new images or does the server auto grab whatever images are in the folder?
