Re: MxScan/ClamAV firewall issue?

You should disable any ResidentAVs (ie F-prot) and try again. As stated in the docs it is not recommended to have a ResidentAV running on the same server as there could be issues. I've seen certain instances where the residentAV would block/prevent the ClamD from loading correctly. After disabling ...

Re: MxScan/ClamAV firewall issue?

I'm running Windows Server 2003 with the Windows Firewall enabled. Hmm... I just disabled the Windows Firewall and got the same error message (target machine actively refused it 127.0.0.1:3310). Now I'm *really* stumped. BTW, I'm running F-Prot Antivirus, but it's not actively scanning the file sys...

MxScan/ClamAV firewall issue?

I've just installed MxScan Lite Edition. When I click the "Test" button on the AntiVirus/Clam AntiVirus Settings tab I get this error message: Error in [ClamD_SocketScan]! No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 127.0.0.1:3310 I'm running Windows Server 2003 with t...

Re: Why do compares to external word list file sometimes fai

The filters can be matched as text or regex. RegEx is a great improvement! It would enable me to deal with those folks who try to fool content filters by interspersing extra spaces (which are ignored when rendered), and various tag tricks, in HTML formatted messages. I've downloaded a copy of your ...

Re: Why do compares to external word list file sometimes fai

This might not be specific to MailEnable but generally speaking when looking for content in email messages, the message has to be first parsed so that all the "special characters/encoding" are displayed as what you would see in outlook when reading a message. Thanks for replying! I hope MailEnable ...

Why do compares to external word list file sometimes fail?

I'm using an external word list file to filter out spam while running Enterprise Edition v2.52. The filtering seems to work pretty well most of the time. But there are some exceptions. For example, I've noticed that a URL inside an IMG tag seems to be ignored. Here's my test case: One spammer change...

Is external word list compare case-insensitive?

I've created a large external word list file to use when filtering spam messages. It appears that the contents of the file are compared in a case-insensitive way to the contents of the message, but I want to make sure. Also, are there parts of messages that aren't examined? I've added the domain nam...

We had this issue which was caused by a "Pro" registry key being left after the upgrade to Enterprise (beta in our case). I've copied and pasted the response we received from ME on how to fix it. After we removed the registry key the license reported as valid so hopefully this will work for you too...

AMailEnable WebMail Provider Test

I see this message when I display Diagnostics on my Pro installation: "AMailEnable WebMail Provider Test (Address Map) error: (-2147221005) Invalid Class String" Can someone decode this for me? Everything seems to be working. Should I be worried? P.S. Happy New Year to all you folks Down Und...

I think I goofed when upgrading my Professional license to Enterprise. I launched the license wizard from my Pro installation, purchased the upgrade, and was told my new license was now installed. But now, when I run diagnostics on my Pro installation, I see this message: "License Status: Unli...

Testing of the AVGSCANL.EXE with my server scripts and integrated with ME worked with the EICAR.COM test virus. The virus was striped out of the test mail as expected. Proper exit return codes were created. I obtained a copy of AVBSCANL.EXE too. It does return an exit code when I run it from a comm...
