Re: send emails using MailEnable component in our asp.net web

Thanks for the tip, Brett!

Does the IP need to be added to the SmtpClient also?

Re: send emails using MailEnable component in our asp.net web

What if the webserver and MailEnable are on the same server? Doesn't this mean we then have to configure two mailservers? Can we just use the MEASP.dll in ASP.NET?

Hi Ben, Thanks for the response. It looks like you have been very busy over lately: many posts appear with you as the most recent poster. With respect to the registry, would it not be simpler and less risky to apply the appropriate security level on the registry key to which you refer? What account ...

I should hope that would not be necessary...surely the ME staff will want to correct this issue as the thread has be viewed quite often indicating that other users are interested in the topic. Perhaps others should comment that they too are experiencing this issue that is unresolved and completely u...

I am puzzled! Other problems get prompt attention but this one has had NO response whatsoever.

What constitues important? You would think a property setting not being applied would be addressed; especially when the misapplication of the property is causing SMTP errors!

I have been in contact with GoDaddy and was able to get our IP unblocked. However, I fear it is but a matter of time until they block us again for bogus helo. I suspect that when push comes to shove GoDaddy will recommend since our mail server software is using an incorrect domain name that we shoul...

Hmmmmm...

Sounds like a backwards solution, though. Why should the A record need to be configured to fit the mail server when the mail server should be configurable to the A record!?

Well let me know if it works.

Have you tried the following:

Go to services, right-click on the ME SMTP Connector; select properties. In the General tab, about half-way down, set the Startup type to Automatic.
