I solved this by writing a little utility that auto-bans these hackers. You can find it in the Developers forum.
(Works with Standard Edition)

[SOLVED] Any way to automatically stop this type of attack on MailEnable?

This attack goes on for maybe 20 pages like this, maybe more.

I've banned the address, but it seems like there should be some way for the software to detect these thousands of failed usernames and passwords and just automatically ban the guy.

Okay, I've found a pretty good work around for the above stated problem. I solved the problem by configuring one Windows Virtual SMTP server per domain/IP then Smart Hosting MailEnable to handle final delivery and other processing. I run MailEnable with multiple domains and only one of them (the default domain) passes SMTP Banner Check over at mxtoolbox.com I have read all the posts I could find here and over at Plesk, and it seems that it's simply not possible - or I have somehow missed the answer.
