Greylisting questions.

I've used greylisting with previous employers with great effect, however the one I have now say they have tried it before without much impact on spam penetration. Just wondering if there are any tools for displaying greylisting stats? Also, is there anyway of enabling greylisting on specific mailbox...

Re: Error creating mailbox:Path not found

Turns out I was trying to use an NTFS reserved word. We use a firstname.lastname naming convention for our mailboxes, and the first name of this new user just happens to be Con. Is there anyway I can get around this? For instance have a directory named 0Con.Lastname that maps to a ME mailbox of Con....

Error creating mailbox:Path not found

Hi All, Got a really weird one here. This morning I went to add several new mailboxes to an existing post office and for one particular user I am getting an error saying "Error creating mailbox:Path not found" when creating their mailbox. Weird thing is that the post office store exists and is write...

What I need is a tool which; 1) gets a list of all the domains for each post office 2) Does a DNS MX lookup on each domain 3) Does a DNS A lookup on each MX record 4) Outputs each data to CSV, etc Anyo...

Re: Mac Entourage

Via standard IMAP, POP and SMTP protocols yes. If Entourage has any proprietary protocols then I'd say no.

*edit*

Should point out I have one Entourage user connecting to ME 4.23 just fine using the standard protocols mentioned above.

Delivery and disabled postoffices?

Hi All, Have just upgraded from 3.6 to 4.23 and are having a few issues with disabled post offices. Our process is to disable post offices for a period of 90 days before they are deleted (just in case). This never caused an issue with 3.6, however looking at the debug log it appears that ME is tryin...

Re: SMTP alt port 465 or 587 ?

I've always used 587 for the alt SMTP port, however if using SSL I'd say you are correct with looking at 465.

Check outgoing email for valid domain?

Hi All, I have a real problem with users repeatedly trying to send emails to addresses with invalid domain names, mostly caused when users send out newsletters. Is there anyway I can immediately expire an outbound email when the target domain name is invalid? I currently have nearly 4000 emails in t...

Listing all domains?

Hi All, I've not long started at a new role where it appears there has never been any sort of house keeping done on the Mail Enable environment. I need to find a way of listing all the domains across all post offices which Mail Enable is configured to receive email for so I can create a script to se...

Re: Archive ability?

Sorry to bring up an old topic, however I believe the OP is asking for exactly what we are looking for. We also host post offices for hundreds of clients and need a way of being able to archive off old emails on a per post office level. I need to do some serious house cleaning on our mail server as ...

Re: Need help with stopping backscatter

Thanks guys, That tool looks quite useful :) ! I've given up on backscatter.org. I ensured that all the backscatter prevention settings were applied that were in the KB article that both myself and Ben linked to, and after paying to be de-listed we were listed again within 13 hours. Further reading ...

Need help with stopping backscatter

Hi All, Our email server is being listed on backscatter.org which is causing issues for some clients. I have checked the how to on Preventing Backscatter in MailEnable and verified that each of the three solutions here are in effect, however we still get listed. I have just implemented SPF checking ...
