v2 Webmail client... molasses?

Has anyone else found the new .NET webmail client to be dog slow - especially when logging in? Is it huge HP required by .NET, or does the client just need some fine-tuning? BTW - I like the little usability improvements in the web client. Messages now show as read without refreshing the page, etc. ...

Definitely Scalix

I second the suggestion to check out Scalix. I'm thinking about setting up a Linux box just to use it!

Enable WebAdmin features through API?

I want to be able to enable "Can create and edit mailboxes" and "Max number of mailboxes" through the API... Don't see it in the API guide.

TIA

More info...

No hints, huh? Well, here is how I'm calling the object. This method seems to work in a lot of other places in my code - can't quite figure out why this insists on creating an attachment instead of HTML message body: oMail = CREATEOBJECT("MEMail.Message") oMail.MailFrom = ALLTRIM(TQuery.PropEmail) o...

Outgoing delays to Yahoo

I've scanned the messages on this board regarding outbound delays to yahoo accounts, and have a little puzzle piece I thought might be helpful. I host several domains on my mail server. I have found that mail from my primary email account (the first one I set up) goes out almost immediately... while...

Quick answer is yes. I can think of two approaches. 1) you can create a skin for each client (you can just replace the logo to keep the workload down) and set the skin to the desired one at login. There are docs on creating skins and also references on predefining the skin selection. 2) You can just...

Why is my message garbled or becomes attachment?

Hmm... when I send an HTML string as oMail.cMessage, the message either comes through inline as garbled text (in gmail) or as an "message/rfc822" HTM attachment in Outlook or MEWebmail. I've tried reducing the html code, but no joy. The HTML is: <html><style type="text/css"> <!-- body,td,th { font-f...

I considered swithing to a database store - but from the docs it appears that the database is not really used to store the messages themselves - just the PO and mailbox info! If that is true, I don't expect this particular problem would be fixed by moving to the DB store. It would be great if the up...

How much mail is too much?

I have a user with 650,000,000 Bytes of disk usage, and 15,000 messages in her Inbox - and it's taking forever to bring up her webmail screens.

Is this to be expected for such a message volume, or is something else going on?

Re: alternate webmail url

Hi all KB article ME020137 seems to say that if I want to use webmail.domain.com as the webmail url...all I need to do is make a registry change. Is that correct? TIA Peter No... all you need to do is redirect traffic for that domain to your webmail directory. In IIS Create a new web site called We...

Anyone used Zaep for spam filtering?

I don't know if you can plug it in to MEEnterprise, but I'd like to find something to replace my aging and unsupported Fluffy SMTP proxy.

Fluffy intercepts stuff quite reliably BEFORE it hits MailEnable. I I can find something to replace THAT, it would be ideal!

Suggestions?

2.0 - Beta available or is release imminent?

I don't see the Enterprise Beta listed on the beta download page... is it elsewhere?

When do we expect the release of Enterprise 2.0 - if it's real soon I won't bother with the beta.

TIA

Spam Filtering options

I don't think this is too far off-topic, but I have found Fluffy the SMTP Guarddog to be remarkably effective in filtering out the majority of spam before it hits my mail server. It primarily works by verifying the source server is not a spam engine by rejecting the first message (legit mail servers...
