We too have Mail Enable pro running on Windows 2003 Server Standard edition and it works great - also using server edition of AVG and works flawlessly.

RDNS Blacklisting is an absolute bonus as it has reduced our spam load significantly.

I had the very same problems viewing Diagnostics in the MMC on Windows Server 2003 until the last two updates when it all fixed itself.

I am using 1.109 and it is ok there.

Just to add that the 24th April Update has resolved this and I can now add attachments once more.

Still cannot get the diagnose tool to work within the mmc. Works stand alone.

I think you've got it spot on. I was accessing the pro mmc from the program group and would have thought the install program would put the right one there. I went into the program bin folder and opened the one you suggested the one ending in professional and it worked. So the wrong version is linked...

Hi Dave

Thanks for that. I did exactly that but still no change - diagnose still won't work - I can run diagnostics outside the mmc ok.

Did you get the diagnostics - looks like the server sent them - would be from postmaster@grrlfriends.org?

MMC Seems very unstable in Professional 1.1

I have just installed Professional Version 1.1 I am getting a lot of odd MMC Errors: Diagnose won't work from within the MMC but runs fine externally. If this fails it throws up errors such as Snap in failed to initialise. When this fails I then get messages such as cannot save the console when tryi...

We had exactly the same problem but even though we reregistered meapwas.dll webmail still wouldn't function. More strange was that later after 4th reinstall the MMC totally corrupted and changes could be entered but not save and we got a runtime component error (sorry this was a while back and don't...

Nope don't buy as a result of spam, telemarketing or any form of advertisment which I have not specifically consented to receive. I took the Boulder Pledge a long time ago. The Boulder Pledge "Under no circumstances will I ever purchase anything offered to me as the result of an unsolicited e-mail m...

Are you using RDNS blacklist support? There have been some problems with some of the main services such as relays.osirusoft.com which have been down recently (back again now) - when you send mail the systems does a look up - if it cannot find it this can delay outgoing mail.

Just a thought

I agree with you that it would be good if we could configure the reject response. The RDNS Blacklisting works like a charm and I too am absolutely delighted. I'm watching the logs looking for false positives at the moment but so far 100% hit rate of spam identified actually being so. Well done and T...

Hi there and thanks for the prompt response. I checked the SMTP relay properties and I already have all machines denied access, but had allowed 127.0.0.1 So that should work, but isn't. An example from the logs follows, the mail address is correct in the logs but I have munged it here to prevent it ...

Whitelisting and Mail Component

Hi I've just upgraded to ME Standard and Pro versions 1.610 and 1.0014. I've turned on Reverse DNS Blacklisting as we were drowining in spam. I've just noticed that now when some of my hosted domains which use the ME Mail component that of course this is now being refused as it comes from 127.0.1. A...
