Re: Whitelist Directory Overloaded

I'll also note that now when I run the CACLS on the postoffices directory I get the first four lines and then "The data is invalid." after that.

Re: Whitelist Directory Overloaded

I re-ran the install program again this time choosing repair. It does seem to have fixed at least some of the services so I can now log in via the web interface. However once there it gives me ME-E5005 errors which I find described here - http://www.mailenable.com/kb/Content/Article.asp?ID=me020496 ...

Re: Whitelist Directory Overloaded

OK I ran all the permission resets and such and now I see that when I upgraded from the Plesk basic version to this new version in a standalone directory it never changed where all the services were pointing. The services are still trying to run things in the Plesk directory. How do I recreate the s...

Whitelist Directory Overloaded

I just moved my copy of MailEnable Enterprise from an old Windows 2003 system to a new Windows 2012 system. I'm using MySQL as the data holder. I do have an ODBC entry set up for it. When I tried to log in via the web interface, I got connection errors, and I found some information on the site here ...

Re: Need Help Avoiding PLESK

I can see everything fine within the MailEnable administration tool now. However, when I try to POP poll for my mail from Outlook, it fails. I did change the IP address that Outlook polls. And I did ensure that the services for MailEnable are running.

Re: Need Help Avoiding PLESK

Well I think I'm going to try moving these files over into the PLESK directory structure, from my original install C:\Program Files\Mail Enable\Dictionaries (Optional - Professional and Enterprise only) C:\Program Files\Mail Enable\Config (Mandatory - contains configuration information) C:\Program F...

Need Help Avoiding PLESK

I'm in a strange situation. I have a new host that has PLESK on my server but I don't want it or need it. I'm migrating MailEnable Professional over from my old server to this one. I moved all the files into a c:\mailenable directory. However, when I go to install MailEnable it finds the **Plesk** e...

Re: Changing Root password - can't see mailboxes

The Provider Migration Utility did the trick. For some reason just changing the ODBC password wasn't enough. I also had to change it in the Provider Migration Utility for it to take.

Re: Changing Root password - can't see mailboxes

I'm looking in the provider migration utility, and it says that MySQL is installed, Not Initialized, and active. When I use MySQL, it shows the database is fully initialized and populated. So somehow the setting for the provider migration utility ended up with a wrong setting, because of my changing...

Changing Root password - can't see mailboxes

I had a hacker hit my system that runs my forums and mail server. I had to change my various MySQL passwords including my root password. This caused MailEnable Enterprise to stop working. it said it had no mailboxes. I went into ODBC and changed the root password to change this new password I had se...

Re: Recovering from crash

Dear Ian -

I apologize, that was a rhetorical question :). Yes, I've had to do that many, many times over the past decade or whatever it's been that I've been using you guys :). We go through servers fairly quickly.

Re: Recovering from crash

Thank you, Ian. For some reason it took a few reboots and updates for the mailboxes to be seen in their new location, but I now have everything working smoothly. All the mailboxes are there, and mail is flowing in and out. My final key was getting the firewall to be open. My old server had been Wind...

Re: Windows 2008 Firewall Settings

Thank you thank you for posting this. I had to upgrade to windows 2008 because my windows 2003 server crashed, and I was having all sorts of trouble getting it to work.

I finally got those firewall ports open and voila! I have mail again!

Thank you.

Recovering from crash

My server crashed and I had to start fresh from an entirely new server. I did get access to all the old files. I tried to first put the files into a directory, then install into that directory. It didn't work - it treated MailEnable like a fresh install and didn't see the old files. How do I install...

DB Location for autoresponse

I have a script that I run when an editor leaves my site. I reset their forwarding information, their secret questions, and so on.

Where is the autoresponse stored, so I can wipe that out? I need that to go away too, of course.

Thanks!
