If you want to block the e-mail, use a spam filter that looks for the following string: In order to read the attach you have to use the following password: If it is the same on all e-mails. I am using F-prot and AVG and have not seen a single one of these yet.. maybe I have been lucky.. I have searc...

Do you have real-time protection on?

Did you apply the registry fix for F-prot and ME?

The password protected zip file is a virus (Beagal, Bagel) that can't be cleaned if you can't open and read inside the archive.

Invalid domains

I have the setting in the SMTP configuration to "reject mail if sender address is from invalid domains". However, I am still seeing a lot of bogus domains sending mail.. and it ends up in the bad mail. Shouldn't it just reject the message instead of moving to the bad mail folder?

The other was the ability to check if an email to someone in your domain does not have a spoofed sender address that is also in your domain. Basically checking to make sure that if the senders email address is from a local domain, it must exist. The only problem with this might be if it is a smart ...

I actuall don't have the ASPMail program installed.. I am using CDOSYS and pointing the mail config within Snitz to 127.0.0.1, I have also given the local server unauthenticated relay rights.. You have to make sure that the e-mail address that is used to send mails is actually on the local server if...

I also use teh Snitz forum and it works for me. I installed ASPMail and everything worked perfectly. Check your relay settings and allow 127.0.0.1 to send without authentication.

That will allow the local machine to send e-mail, this would include any websites etc...

How about the ability to run other scripts at the end of the MEFilter process? Maybe a place to enter command lines for 6 or so other scripts.

This is one of the things I have seen in the forums that people want. The ability to run multiple scripts for filtering, etc....

I use MEFilter. The person that developed it is a regular person on the forum and provides excellent support. It has capabilities beyond blocking SPAM and doesn't use a ton of resources.

It can be downloaded from http://www.publicplanet.com/mefilter/

So far it has done a great job of blocking SPAM.

Did MailEnable Support Die?

I haven't seen a post from support in a while. I did a search and the last post was in late January 2004.

Do a search on the forum for melogconvert and you can use it with awstats to see the amount of e-mail that goes out. There is a slight bug that only shows you 43 bytes per e-mail. But I believe the developer is working on a fix. You can also use MEFilter to determine the mails in and out. There is a...

It would be nice to see those stats plus the info on viruses, and the other functions of the MTA filter, even which virus engine that found the virus.. SPAM stats would be nice as well..

It could be setup to use awstats to view the info.. or via some browser based utility.
