MailEnable Timeouts When Auth Sender Sends Large Attachments

For the past several months (I'm guessing around the time Pro 1.70 was released) MailEnable times out when an authenticated sender is trying to send an e-mail with a very large attachment (say around 15MB or more). Previously, I have sent attachments as large as 80MB through mailenable. I've been ab...

When I do a reverse lookup at http://www.dnsstuff.com/tools/ptr.ch?ip=12.168.90.3 I'm getting:

Code: Select all

*ERROR* A record does not point back to original IP.
So shouldn't the e-mail be rejected, being that the PTR doesn't match?

For the time being, I've setup SPF with ME Filter, but I really would like to get at the root of the problem. Can anyone confirm this is a bug so I can stop banging my head on the wall for the time being?

Thanks, I'll try figuring out how to write an MTA pickup event for SPF... But, why aren't any of our SMTP settings stopping this? - Only relay for authenticated senders & privileged IP ranges - Reject mail if sender address is from invalid domain - Authenticated senders must use valid sender address...

Help Protecting from Spammers - ME seems to not work properl

The past couple of days, we've been receiving a bunch of e-mails using one of our local e-mail addresses as the FromAddress. Upon inspecting the logs, I see that they're doing a "EHLO ourdomain.com" but MailEnable isn't preventing them from sending. Here are the settings I have for SMTP: - Only rela...

Would you recommend the Enterprise edition or the API? I'm thinking of purchasing the API and programming it to suit our needs (only if it's easy enough, i would consider myself a novice programmer). The cost of $699 for Enterprise Ed. w/ unlimited POP accounts is more than my boss would be willing ...

Archiving E-mail for Spam Reporting

I was thinking that this would be a great feature for MailEnable if at all possible: All incoming e-mails are stored in a database for a set number of days (maybe 30 - of course this would require a lot of disk space). A link could automatically be added to each message when it is delivered in a pos...

Removing Bounced Mail from Database

We have a MySQL database of newsletter subscribers. I'm looking for a way to automatically remove e-mail addresses from the database when one of the newsletters bounces with 55x error codes (i.e. mailbox unknown, etc.). Does anyone have any experience (and hopefully sample code) for this? Thanks! Ja...
