Re: Mail forwarding to Gmail relay does not work

"The IP you're using to send mail is not authorized..." from Gmail indicates that the IP you are sending from is considered to be one that is prevented from running a mail server. Please see: https://support.google.com/mail/answer/10336 So you may need to relay through your ISP mail server...

Re: composing new email from address is empty

This would normally mean that the mailbox does not have any email addresses associated with it. In the administration program, double click a mailbox and go to the "Addresses" tab. If there are no email addresses you can click the "Add Email..." button to add one.

Re: What's the option that fell off the bottom of the autoresponder tab?

The option is a version 9 option that is not available in v7 - it is the option to only respond between certain time. It should be hidden. It would not be the cause of the error, that is more likely to be the subject of the autoresponder. You can try downloading: https://www.mailenable.com/hotfix/ad...

Re: Forwarding not working

In the SMTP Activity log, check the "MAIL FROM:" for when the email is being sent out. Is it a local mailbox address, or still the original SMTP address from the inbound SMTP message?

Re: Prevent Smart Hosting for Local Domains

So all emails to local mailboxes are being sent out and not delivered locally? Possibly if you have used the MERoute utility this could happen, but you should be able to check by running the tracking utility in the administration program and following a message - the Debug logs would indicate why it...

Re: different EHLO strings (SMTP-IN / SMTP-OU)

Hi,

The SMTP-IN means a connection inbound to the SMTP service. The EHLO for this is sent by the client connecting and is not configured in the mail server. You will need to check the sending application/script in order to change this, sorry.

Re: DNS Blacklist not checking all stations

Only the connecting IP address is checked against the DNS blacklist, before the email is accepted. Maybe mxscan plugin does this, or enable blacklisting on the backup server.

Hi,

The next minor update includes using wildcards, which was not possible before, so you will be able to add the following as a block:

[*.*.*.*]

Hope this helps, thanks!

Re: EHLO Blocking -- Add to denied IP list

We had considered adding this to the abuse list so the connection is dropped earlier. Adding to the denied IP address is not ideal since the IP hangs around too long and just slows down connections (when that list gets large). But there is not really an advantage to add to abuse list either, since w...
