Re: "Delete Messages" button of a mailbox Properties..

Hi Ian Can you advise me on the safest way to do this? I have written a tool that parses the _index.xml and it's capable of examining the various fields such as the date and the mail file name.. in terms of the actual delete handling: after deleting the file, should I rewrite the index file to remov...

"Delete Messages" button of a mailbox Properties..

HI ME Team This button doesn't seem to delete messages in subfolders of the inbox, only messages in the root. Is this the case? I can open a folder from an old user - I see she has 5000 messages in the root and 4 folders each with 2000 messages. I hit DELETE MESSAGES.. and choose "all messages" - af...

Re: This filter script didnt work out as i was expecting...

But the action of the filter is: forward the mail to a catch all write back to the sender saying "your mail has been deleted without notifying the recipient, sorry" delete the mail And as I understand it, the FilterResult being 0 means the filter will not activate, and 1 means it will activate.. ..s...

Re: How to stop ME Pro from forwarding viruses?

Hi Ian Thanks for this; implemented and working well. I did have a query regarding the pattern matching actually: I assume the string check is simply "contains" style, so if I enter the following in my wordlist criteria file: help@domain.com Then it will match to all of: help@domain.com livehelp@dom...

feaute suggestion: "any" standard filter criteria is not useful, make it "all"

gents it seems that in a filter, if multiple criteria (standard) are enabled then the results are ORed but this is not useful because if I want OR i can simply create multiple filters Can we have it so that multiple standard criteria are ANDed, or better, provide a radio button that lets the user ch...

Exempt GoogleMail from greylisting?

I currently have a major nuisance with enabling greylisting because it seems large mail providers like gmail will do their retires from potentially hundreds of different email addresses. Google has so many IP ranges that even setting Class B recognition can result in lengthy delays Google publishes ...

[SOLVED] How to allow certain domains (rather than IPs) to send without auth?

Hi ME team For some operations we use a dedicated smtp gateway, AUTHSMTP.COM After configuring some various security options that have hugely cut down on spam, I note that it has also apparently stopped legitimate emails in the following scenario: Some of our automated services use authsmtp.com excl...

How to stop ME Pro from forwarding viruses?

I have a bunch of mail forwards on my ME that forward from some_address@mydomain.com to various important people at my customers.. ..I've recently become aware that ME is forwarding everything on, including any virus attachments that are sent to the inbound address. Is there any mechanism I can use,...

Was your .NET API written by a crazyperson?

I'm really struggling to get my head around the way your .NET API is written.. For example, MailBox class has a non-static method FindFirstMailBox() that takes no parameters and returns an int. I don't know of a single OO paradigm that would have a "find" method have a signature and encapsulation li...

Prevent large attachments?

Users within my intranet are forever emailing each other large files, which sucks all the space up on the server hard disk. I've repeatedly warned them of the abject stupidity of taking a large file, sending it out over a half meg line to a mail server, stored twice (IMAP sent, + recipient) only for...

MailEnable hammering my server's hard disk..

Hi Guys need a bit of inspiration as to what to look at. We've got ME imap and pop users. Uisng Procmon I've determined that PHP, MEIMAPS and MEPOPS are the top disk thrashers at the moment. A disk speed utility reports that the server drive is returning around 1MB per second a tthe moment. If I sto...

Re: Can the same email account be both POP3 and IMAP?

accounts, i.e. mailboxes, are just that; a store of data. POP3 and IMAP are access protocols; different ways of getting access to the mailbox data. If you have ME Pro or above, you can use either protocol to access the same mailbox
