Improve: Senders from local domains must authenticate to...

Hi MailEnable The function is great, but most often disabled (as in our case) because it is blocking external smtp-servers sending to local hosted domains. Why not improve it to be: “Senders from local domains must authenticate to relay - except from smtp-servers specified in the SPF-record”? I...

This mail server requires authentication before sending mail

Hi all

Some persons get this error when sending locally:
This mail server requires authentication before sending mail from a locally hosted domain
But they are SMTP-authenticating.

What can be the problem?

I am the postmaster and I am not aware of blocking anything for myself.

But this morning it is working again - did nothing.

Error: Gracefully closed xxxx before any command received

Hi all

How to fix this error: "Gracefully closed xxxx before any command received. Remote client closed the connection."?

We have done nothing with the server for ages and now out of the blue this error shows up.

Can someone help?

Super - looking very much forward to this. And... These are just simple pickup events for WinSpamC, so you need to have that installed. In turn, WinSpamC needs SpamAssassin (running in daemon mode) either on the same or another machine. I have followed our instructions on your web site and have made...

As WinSpamC is open-source, I was actually planning to make a modified version of it that would work directly with MailEnable (so that it wouldn't need pickup events)...
Is it added now?

7) And what about blocking the e-mails that pretend to be from one on the same domain – like:

FROM: noneExisting@ourDomain.com
TO: isExisting@ourDomain.com

A lot of spam get in this way.

Thank you One more thing that we are missing is: 6) The possibility of blocking the mail based on a country IP-level, so we can reject two of the most spamming countries: Russia and China. Of course we can use the firewall for this, but again centralized administration is better and what if you donâ...

Still missing functions in version 2

Hi MailEnable We have been going through the enterprise edition version 2 and we have found some important functions that (still) are missing: 1) The view of the mail server is great, but we are still missing the possibility of sending the important warnings to us (the responsible guys for the mail ...

Open Relay via a mail proxy

Hi all We just discovered that we had an open relay via a mail-proxy that we have placed in front of MailEnable where we had 127.0.0.1 as an privileged IP. In this way we had an open relay for 2 days. We now have an outgoing mail folder with 40.000 or so emails, many of them are spam emails. We cann...
