I cannot see any reason why you cannot move from Pro to Standard. Use the same method I outlined above, just don't copy the registry. You will just have to make sure that any registry settings are correct manually.

A New MTA Filter

Over the last little while I have been developing a MTA Pickup routine. I have had it running on my machine now for over a month without any problems (that I can see). The basic functionality is as follows. 1. Spam filtering along the lines of SNIMTA. 2. Attachment Filtering. 3. Black lists. 4. Whit...

Does anyone have any ideas on this ? Since the previous posting I written a MTA filter program. If during this program, I write out a new email (which is nothing to do with the existing email) to the outbound SMTP queue, I get the error message on the inbound queue. If I comment out the write of the...

I have moved my server a number of times, both for upgrades and because of a machine crash. All I have ever done is: 1. Install the software onto the new machine. 2. Export the ME registry entries from the old machine. 3. Import the ME registry entries into the new machine. 4. Copy the whole ME dire...

Yes, just download the latest version and run the program. It will backup your current configuration and then upgrade everything.

What do you mean by the line "You are also able to create your own DLLs to be called by the MTA" ? Does this mean I could create a MTA task that does not run as a .exe and would be loaded as a dll, thus making it possible to load various things at startup and not having to reload these at every exec...

Sounds like a gateway server sitting in front of your ME server. I have something like this setup at work. All mail comes into the first machine, which is then checked for virus's and the like, if all is OK, it is passed onto the real mail server. It is also quite common to have this gateway server ...

I have installed SpamCatcher and most things seem to be working well. The only issues I have are no log files are being created, even if I set the debug option to YES. Also if I send an email to myself with the "key" in the subject line, SpamCatcher reply's to me, changing the subject line to "SpamC...

I had the same problem a while ago and solved it by installing my own DNS server for my internal network. This way I have defined all my domains with local IP addresses which are returned for my local clients. Any requests for addresses that are not defined in my local DNS are then forwarded to my I...

Another way to do this is use the Microsoft routines. If you look at the MTAPE script you can see the basics how it is done. I have used this method from within VB.Net
