Ben mentions the "Report as Spam" WebMail feature in this article... http://forum.mailenable.com/viewtopic.php?t=13417&highlight=report+spam ...and even supplies a utility to enable and configure it. I'm guessing it's not meant to be mainsteamed yet because there is an option in the utility that he ...

Lost outbound mail
Hello, A customer complained today that they sent several messages yesterday which were never delivered. This has happened to this customer before. I can see MailEnable accepting the message in the SMTP log, all the way to the "QUIT" command, but it never gets routed to the MTA. Oddly, the SMTP tran...

I've been pondering this... Would it be possible (through the use of filters perhaps) to ONLY send NDRs to our own users, or to addresses hosted on our server? Whereas 99% of undeliverable mail TO our server is just spam, 99% of underliverable mail FROM our server is legitimate. Can anyone think of ...

In case this helps anyone with troubleshooting, I noticed that the start.bat file left behind by the rootkit deleted the aspnet user from the server. This might be part of the reason that webmail doesn't work. I'm not that familiar with the internal workings of the webmail, so I'm not sure... It jus...

SmartHost to multiple servers with different TCP ports?
I understand we can specify multiple SmartHosts for global smarthosting by comma-delimiting the list. But can we also specify different ports for each server? We have a GoDaddy (Secureserver.net) hosted server running MailEnable. GoDaddy blocks outbound port 25, so we have to SmartHost our mail out ...

Server retries on permanent "550 Invalid Mailbox"
A customer complained today that they received a bunch of "Message Delivery Delay" warnings for a single message that their application sent to an invalid address. The warning from our mail server (running the latest release, 2.37) says that it received a 550 Invalid Mailbox error, but that it will ...

Our mail server turns away about 12,000 of 120,000 connections per day because of missing PTR records. Sadly, we are considering turning it off because so many mail server IPs don't have PTR records. Every week, I have to explain to one of my customers why their customer can't send them e-mail, and ...

Amit, GoDaddy requires you to send mail out through their mail server. They block outbound access on port 25, so you will not be able to send mail directly to outside servers. You must use the Smart Host feature in SMTP settings. We use GoDaddy's mail server at 64.202.189.86. You should check with t...

FYI, I opened a ticket on this and was told that where the documentation says "TCP/IP Port number" it should actually read "TCP/IP Socket number", and the article that I referenced in my previous post has been corrected. So if we can get enough of us asking for TCP Port number in the logs, maybe the...

Raja, Yes, we run the quota notification agent for several large post offices on v2.13. I don't know of any problems with the agent. There are performance issues with quota-checking when mail arrives though, if the mailbox has thousands of messages in it. See my Sept 26th post in this thread: http:/...
