MAPI connection user by homemade application

Hi,
We're looking to migrate from Exchange 2003 to Mailenable.

We have custom application that query Exchange Global Adress List via a MAPI connection (via Outlook installed locally).

If we migrate to Mailenable with the connector for Microsoft Outlook, what will happens with those applications? Do we have to use a different query method (ldap, ..) and they will works without changes?
