Outlook 2013 Reply to All "You don't have appropriate permissions to perform this operation"

Post by prcua »

Outlook 2013 will no longer let us use Reply to all with the Mailenable connector and Outlook 2013. We receive the message from Outlook "You don't have appropriate permissions to perform this operation" when we click on the reply to all.

I have removed the profile and debugged by creating an IMAP profile with the same mailenable user account and Reply to all works.
I have removed the profile and debugged by creating an activesync profile with the same mailenable user account and Reply to all works.
It seems that only if I create a Mailenable profile in Outlook that the Reply to all is restricted.

This just started about three weeks back.

We are using the 2.72 version of the connector and Mailenable Enterprise Premium release 9.72

How can I enable the use of Reply to all in Outlook 2013 using the mailenable connector?

We have had the same issue (about 6 cases) for the past few days on MS Office 2013 ME connector 2.72 and ME 9.73 (now).

Reinstalling Outlook has fixed it each time. Not sure if this is ME issue or a MS Update?

Hi,

We do know about this issue and have a workaround for the problem (it only occurs with Outlook 2013 with patch KB3172519).

The interim solution is to remove the outlook patch: KB3172519.

https://support.microsoft.com/te-in/hel ... il-11-2017

Microsoft has released patches that "break" such functionality in the past and has had to withdraw or revert the change in a subsequent update.

We are currently working on a fix to address the issue without needing to remove the Microsoft update but don't have a specific time frame at this point.

After I had uninstalled KB3172519 the Reply to All functioned again until KB3191889. Then, back to the same "You don't have permissions..."

I uninstalled KB3193889 and Reply to all works again. Wondering now if KB3191889 is cumulative.

We are again getting the same permission error in Outlook 2013 ... we do not have kb3172519 or kb3191889 installed.
There were two May of 2017 kb updates ... 31505513 and 4019472, both of which I uninstalled , one at a time and rebooted. Still getting the error message "You don't have the appropriate permission to perform this operation"
This is using client 2.72 on enterprise 9.61 and server 2012R2. Any further suggestions, advice or news on resolution??

Hi Denis,

The issue here maybe that the rollback of the new updates did not complete successfully. The May 2017 updates most likely will contain the same broken patches as kb3172519 and therefore would explain why Outlook is exhibiting the same errors. You may need to find Outlook security updates prior kb3172519 and reinstall them to see if this fixes the problem. Until Microsoft releases a fix this is the only workaround.

Is there a fix already?

Dear Ian,
We have the same problem.
We use mostly click-to-run version of office 2013 and 2016 with the latest updates installed.
I have restored the update state to March and this solved the problem.
But this means we have to restore all of our 200 clients and have to also disable the office updates at all.
This is not appropriate for long term not to mention the workload.
Do you have any solution without roll back the updates?
Thank you,
Zoltán

Seems to still be an issue. Is there a fix I am missing other that reverting outlook versions and turning off office updates which poses security risks

Hi there!

I have the exact same issue with a client I just enabled. The setup is as follows:

Server: MailEnable Enterprise Premium 10.23
Client: Windows 10 Home 64-bit 1803, MS Outlook 2013 (15.0.5153.1000) 64-bit

The email account is configured with MAPI protocol, using MailEnable Connector 2.74.

I am upgrading Windows now into 1903 to see if it will fix the problem, but I doubt.

Any ideas?

Kind regards,
