[SOLVED] Webmail host header leads to IIS default page

Post by Sepiritz »

Hi.
I just started a brand new ME9 on a Windows server.
Webmail is functioning on w1.imegasystem.se/mewebmail
I needed to add the functionality of having webmail.customerdomain.fake
So I went into MEadmin, servers, localhost, services, webmail and added all the domains with host headers such as webmail.allm.se
The DNS already had CNAME webmail.allm.se pointing at w1.imegasystem.se so it immediately started working.
An hour later when I check it again, it only displays the IIS default page.
Have I missed a step or something?

Hi,

Within IIS under the MailEnable Web mail site bindings, are the host headers present and are they bound to the correct IP address? If you stop the website and then try to navigate to the site do you get a 404 error or the same IIS page?

Thank you for your reply. I figured out that the reason it didn't work was that I had tried to make a header for an åäö-named (xn--porsisjarna-xfb.se) domain which caused the IIS service to stop. After deleting that header from the webmail list, everything worked again.
