webmail logs
Hi,
I am using MailEnable Enterprise Premium Edition (V10) version 10.37
I have an issue with the webmail logs. I can not find the logs of mail sent via webmail .
I need to find the ip adress of the sending client from the logs.
But I can not find the related log for users.
Thank you for your help and guidance

Re: webmail logs
Hi,
Sorry, the webmail logs don't contain this information, just that the user sent an email (those are the lines with MESSAGE-SEND).

Hi,
Thank you very much for your response.
Is it possible to request a development for this issue?
Sometimes it is required to give some logs to local authorities.
Is there a way to have that logs as a feature for new release?
Thank you very much.

Re: webmail logs
Hi,
Yes, the updated beta on our page at https://www.mailenable.com/beta improves the webmail logging to include the IP address and the recipient. It was updated since it was not logging the filename for the emails sent, which made it hard to track messages sent from webmail (since we were altering the logging we added the IP address from your request). There was also some other logging improvements and fixes in that area.

Hi,
Thank you very much to all for very fast response ..
Can you give some detail about where the logs will be wrtitten. If you can give the directory and the file name, it will be very helpful.
forexample C:\Program Files (x86)\Mail Enable\Logging\HTTPMAIL, and the file name is "ex220818.tx"
Thank you very much..

Re: webmail logs
Hi,
Have you enabled Webmail logging under the "Webmail" properties node wihtin the "Logging" tab?
Please see: https://www.mailenable.com/documentation/10.0/Enterprise/web_mail_Logging.html
You also need to restart IIS after enabling the web mail logging.

Re: webmail logs
Hi Ian,
First of all, I want to thank you for your all support. It is very valuable for us to have response from Mailenable team.
As you release the 10.38 beta version, I had a chance to try it. I want to share the setting we applied to server and the results.
to be able to see the webmail logs,
* you have to configure your webmail logs as it covers the sending option (settings screenshot below) * server logs the ip address of the client for only "send " action. ( log secreenshot ) As I mentioned before we request this logging option to be able to share the information with local authorities when needed.
With the 10.38 beta version we have the option the log the "send action" log however we also need the "sys-login action" logs.
When the client logins via webmail it is better to have the ip address of the client. By this way we can prove that the the account was reached out by that ip address. I hope you can consider this logging option too.
Thank you .
Best regards.
