Auto Response Finish Time not saving

Post by bobkaorn »

I am running Plesk with mail enable. Recently it was pointed out from a user that they cant save the Finish time or End Date of a Auto Response in Webmail. If a user logs into the webmail and Enables an Auto Response and for example the dates show
Start Time: December 31 2022
Finish Time: January 9 2023
And they change the start date and the end date then click SAVE. it seems like everything has saved, But if you refresh the page the Finish time is not saved and jumps back to whatever it was before. If you log out and in it still is not saved. You cant change the finish date.
At Plesk's recommendation we are up to date on the software, we rebooted the server but it does not solve this issue.
This worked in the past and was only brought to our attention when users tried to turn on auto response for the recent holidays.
Not using a Start/Finish time the auto reply works, but when you try to use a custom date range it does not save and does not work.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. :)

Thank!

Hi,

Please upgrade to the 10.43 on our website as it will resolve this problem.

Thank you. I am running 10.42 which seems to be an October 22, 2022 version so i assume this is getting auto updated by Plesk?
Would it be safer to wait until Plesk updated it to 10.43 or do I just run the exe on the server to upgrade? Last thing i want to do is break something.
Thanks!

We operate Plesk on our servers --

Plesk waits an ridiculous amount of time before they update packaged components. We have always updated our Plesk manged MailEnable installations manually. After the update, launch Plesk control panel as Admin, then go to Tools -> Server Components and hit "Refresh" to tell Plesk to acknowledge the new version.

Minor version upgrades have never been a problem for us - we do run additional tests for major version upgrades but have never had an issue there either.

As always -- backup your entire MailEnable folder (minus the post-office root folder) before upgrading just in case Plesk has problems, but we've used this methods for over a decade without issue.

As for Plesk not updating their MailEnable package - they probably don't know about version 10.43.

My MailEnable installation still hasn't alerted us to 10.43, and the website home page still reflects 10.42 as the current version - only when you go to the downloads page do you see it's a new version - but no indication that the version is also a Security Fix version.

Additionally, there was no notification on the forums of the updated version other than random users experiencing problems being told to upgrade.

There seems to be a massive failure of communications/updating somewhere because if 10.43 was a security update, us admins surely didn't know about it unless we religiously check this website "download" page for updates or scrape the "Release-notes.txt" file that's hosted on the website for "changes" --
