Just installed mainenable and now I get all sorts of strange junk mail with .bat and .exe attachments. Not sure why I started getting these never got them when my mail server was hosted in its old location.
I know to delete these emails but other using the new server may not. Is there a way to block these types of emails? Maybe based on attachment type?
Thanks,
Vince
Junk Mail?
Vince,
I get those e-mails as well, I'm sure its not because you installed MailEnable, I am willing to bet that the files your getting is the W32 Klez virus(I get the same sort of thing in my Yahoo e-mail, but yahoo tells me!).
If you have a catch all configured and the e-mails are coming in on strange addresses that is probably why they are appearing now. Your last mail server most likely did not have a catch all configured and these e-mails were then ignored.
If they are coming in on a certain e-mail that you can block then go ahead and do so!
Like I said though, MailEnable does not have anything to do with the incoming virus infected e-mails.
