[SOLVED] Can send by not receive email

Post by carrzkiss » Sun Jun 26, 2016 12:23 am

Hello all;

I just got a major update to our internet.
We are now using a 50mb down / 8mb up connection
With this new Higher Speed and modem connection, we have lost the ability to receive email into the server.
Nothing shows in the log files either.

WE CAN send mail out, however, I am unable to RECEIVE mail from anyone.

I ran a Diagnostics within MailEnable, and everything passes except.

SMTP Inbound Binding Test
IP Address ... ... ... ... - No Server Detected - Warning - No SMTP Server was detected at this IP Address.

I did a port prob here: https://www.grc.com/x/portprobe=25
And it shows the port 25 as [Closed]
However, I am still able to send email. So I am slightly confused as to what is really going on here.

I checked with my ISP's Static IP Dept, and they assured me that everything is showing good on their end for my account.

Any idea's on this issue, please?
All suggestions are welcomed.

Hi,

Check your new modem firewall rules and add port 25 under the inbound rules. If a port forward is required then you will need to configure this within your router for port 25.

Hello everyone.

This got resolved today.
All is good again.
It was a port issue, Port 25.
It was an IP issue.
For someone reason, I had to remove the external IP Address from my NIC.
It has been there for 5 years now, and with the new modem's, It had to be removed.
Go figure.
It was causing everything not to function properly.

This is resolved.
