Problem with special character in Displayname

Post by quba »

Hello,

there is a problem with special characters with comma in Displayname in MEWebmail

For example:

Displayname "Müller Max" all is correct displayed in mail client
but "Müller, Max" is displayed in some mailclients (like iPhone) as "=?UTF-8?Q?M=C3=BCller,_Max?="

Only if there is a comma and a special character like ß ü ä ö there is a problem.
Without comma and special charakter all is well

Is this a known problem?

Thanks and best regards

Hi,

A similar problem was addressed in the 9.14 release kits. Are you running this version?

Hi,

How are you connecting to the server on the iPhone? Is it via IMAP or POP?

HI,

on iPhone connected via IMAP
but this is only an example.

All mails sended with Webmail have these problems with the displayname on the receivers side on some mail clients. (for example iPhone)

Hi,

Was able to emulate similar behavior and have raised an issue in our register to be addressed for the upcoming release.
