Says on the AOL error-codes webpage
521 Recipient address rejected: This error indicates that the AOL member email address no longer exists or the address is misspelled.

On the bounced email the sender and recipient is
From: support@fk-wholesale.com
To: hammond@aol.com

The support@fk-wholesale.com email is sent from a server with MailEnable installed. Is there anything else I can use in the From field?

Hi,

The problem is not related to MailEnable. The issue is that the address your sending to on AOL servers doe snot exist. I have telnetted to the AOL server and manually tried sending tot the address which is rejected. You need to contact AOL for assistance here.

Please see below:

Code: Select all

220-mtaig-aab02.mx.aol.com ESMTP Internet Inbound
220-AOL and its affiliated companies do not
220-authorize the use of its proprietary computers and computer
220-networks to accept, transmit, or distribute unsolicited bulk
220-e-mail sent from the internet.
220-Effective immediately:
220-AOL may no longer accept connections from IP addresses
220 which no do not have reverse-DNS (PTR records) assigned.
ehlo there
250-mtaig-aab02.mx.aol.com
250-STARTTLS
250 DSN
mail from:<ian@mailenable.com>
250 2.1.0 Ok
rcpt to:<hammond@aol.com>
550 5.1.1 <hammond@aol.com>: Recipient address rejected: aol.com

I never posted the actual AOL email on the forum since it's my customers. I've sent a message to the AOL email from another email provider and the email was sent.

Hi,

The error AOL is returning is quite generic when you look at their error codes. The only way to find out why they are rejecting the inbound message is to contact them as we have no control over this. Looking at your DNS records for the domain they look correct and the IP address your sending from is not blacklisted. You are also running version 9.00 Standard it would be ideal to download 9.50 and upgrade to ensure you have all the latest fixes to the MailEnable core services and to eliminate problems in 9.00 your currently running.
