G'day all!
I recently installed ME Standard. So far, it's working just fine for internal emailing, and for sending out ... but inbound messages from external sources are bouncing.
Here is the error I get.

It looks to me like ME is actually accepting the mail from ci.la-junta.co.us. I'm not sure why I would be receiving a 503 like this from ME; it seems to be telling me that ME can't send out - but it can. This is a bounce from ME regarding a message received from outside the ME system. I get a similar bounce for Hotmail and other systems.
The client for ci.la-junta.co.us is Outlook 2007, and it is configured to require authentication.
I have made no changes to ME's SMTP settings.
Any ideas?

Re: ME refusing mail from outside sources
Hi,
Could be one of the following reasons:
1. You have not added the domain lajunta.lib.co.us under the postoffice;
2. there is no mapped email address for mike.steeves@lajunta.lib.co.us;
3. You have enabled the option under the to "Require authentication for all connections" within the SMTP properties under the "Advanced SMTP" tab

Aha!
That last, #3, seems to have solved the 'issue.'
Thanks!
