SMTP INBOUND QUEUE All Incoming messages (Status Undelivered)

Post by carrzkiss »

Hello All;
MailEnable Standard latest install (Update)
Nothing added, all standard.

OK, this just started the other day.
Prior to the 19th of May, 2018, mail had been working flawlessly.
But now, all incoming mail in Queued.

Looking at the Messaging Route Trace Utility.
I see this.
Result: [EA7244C1E63E4FBD800CB6556672DD1B.MAI] is waiting in the SMTP inbound message queue to be routed by the MTA Service.
This most likely means that the MTA service has not had sufficient time to route the message.

I did the most recent update as well, to make sure that was not an issue.
But, still, no go.

I removed everything out of the Queue into an outside folder.
Sent one email to the server, and it is the only one there, and it is still not sending to the mailbox.

Checking the log, for a test message I see nothing wrong there.
Everything is as it should be, to receiving mail into the server.

I performed the following.

Rebooted server
Stop and Started - MTA and SMTP
Cleared the [Bad Mail] Folder (It needed cleaning anyway, a lot fo catchAll)

Also, the other day, when this all started.
I shut down my server for some maintenance.
I booted it back on, and all virtual machines.
Everything loaded without an issue.

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

I downloaded the Real-Time Activity Monitor.
And I see in the MTA, it is filling up quickly with
  • Lost election for SMTP connector
    Lost election for SF connector
    Lost election for POP connector
Lost election for List Server connector
I sent a test email, and it showed up the SMTP Activity window.
So, I can receive, just not deliver to the mailboxes.

Any ideas on this one?
Thanks.

So, I was copying the Mail Enable folder to a backup folder, and It would NOT copy over.
I had to do each folder by itself.

3 files showed as corrupted.
And then, when I check Event Viewer.
It showed: the device, \device\harddisk0\dr0, has a bad block

So, I am moving the backup folder off from the Virtual Server.
And I am installing another VM (Virtual machine) right now.
And will be installing ME on it.

HOPEFULLY, this new installation will resolve the issue.

I am thinking that what might have caused the corruption, was a few weeks ago when the system shutdown from the battery backup unit losing its batteries. (I have bigger newer batteries in it now).

I will keep this thread updated as I progress throughout the morning.

OK, In my particular situation.
It was caused by corruption of files, that ended up taking out my virtual disk.
I installed a new VM and installed ME and imported all my files and the place the queue, and sat there and watched it eat it up.
All were delivered to their mailboxes.

So, if anyone runs into this issue.
See if you can COPY your Mail Enable\ folder, to another location.
If it will NOT copy over, then go inside of the folder, and copy each folder over, until you catch the folder(s) that are BAD.
If you see this, then check your EV and make sure that your disk is not getting ready to go.
If you are running on a VM, then back up your ME Folder, ALL that you can.
And then delete the VM, and install a new one, as I did.

Good Luck all.
This is completed.
