How to import existing DKIM key?

Post by garyf »

Hi. Is it possible to import a DKIM private key that we have already generated please? This is instead of getting MailEnable to generate a brand new one. There doesn't seem to be an option in the GUI to import or paste in a key.

We have 2 servers used for SMTP outbound only and they both need to sign email using exactly the same key for the same domain.

Thanks in advance.
Gary.

I've found the solution so I'm just putting it here if it helps anyone else.

1) Set up DKIM using identical settings on both ME servers. Generate the keys.
2) On one server on the installation drive, go to Mail Enable\Config\DKIM\ to find the private key.
3) Stop the other server and copy this key over to it.
4) Also copy over the DKIM-domain.sys file within the "config" folder **
5) Start the server up and both servers should be signing emails identically to match your public DKIM in the DNS.

**Thanks to MailEnable support for pointing out this extra step
